I’ve been unlucky to have had 5 knee replacements following getting infection in turn it’s left me with chronic pain, if it wasn’t for Dr Gowland I would have thrown towel in a few years ago, she listens is considerate and understanding and in turn helpful in finding what will help make life bareable . Iv been in the surgery when some people think they can talk to staff like something they got on shoe, they should be taken off register because whatever pain iv been in I have always treated with respect {well hope I have lol} Regards and best wishes to Helen and staff MS

I’ve been a patient here since I was born. It is difficult to get an appointment with your preferred GP, this is understandable as too many people don’t keep their appointments. Strathmore is extremely busy but I have never encountered a rude or unhelpful member of staff. As a family we suffer from lifelong chronic conditions but Strathmore staff couldn’t be more supportive. They cared for my parents too and gave them more than medical support over the years. Perhaps a small fee may deter time wasters as the dental practices currently do would be worth trying. The NHS was started as a free system and charging really goes against the grain. Thank you Strathmore staff, not forgetting the excellent Pharmacy staff either.

I have just phoned the surgery with a request for help. I had total knee replacement eleven weeks ago every thing is brilliant , but this morning I noticed on my thigh where I had really black bruising (which had cleared up) it now seems as if the bruising is coming back. The receptionist offered me an appointment for November 6th I told her I would ring triage in the morning as I don't wish to die from a blood clot. This is I feel absolutely disgusting surely she could have asked a Doctor for advice.

Refused me headlice lotion, then refered me to the mental health team claiming I was imagining head lice. This was a couple of years ago, but it is entirely my opinion that this practice can not cope and are subjecting patients to negligence. Hopefully, health board take over soon.

Fantastic surgery but clearly have taken on too many patients. The 'few' Gp's they have there nowadays are lovely and very competent. I have waited 4-6 weeks for a general appointment. Sometimes even getting through on the phone is impossible. It's quite a dangerous situation to be honest. All staff are great and doing their best, there's just not enough of them. I would have avoided a months long hospital admission if I could have seen my GP - Dr Gowland maybe weekly for a couple of weeks at the time I started to become unwell last year - PTSD. There's no way you can have a GP/patient (build trust) relationship at this surgery anymore. It's a shame because they're one of the best in my opinion. I guess it's down to cutbacks etc
